Dear Lovely Listeners! its a been a while and through the thaw of 2024 into 25 we have all been on one hell of a ride. Things are looking bleak out there, BUT the remedy is in moments like this that we can create a space for community to gather! WE are still looking how to bring back Café Chocolat this year with more events and this is a little teaser and warmer upper - so please bring you friends and join us back at cosy Schokoladen for a beautiful evening and celebration of music and culture!

From Burundi to the world, Betina Quest crafts a sound that blends electronic experimentation with deep soul and raw emotion. As a multi-instrumentalist and one-woman powerhouse, she layers loops, synths, and samples to create immersive sonic landscapes. With a rich, warm voice and an instinct for connection, she invites audiences into an intimate yet boundless musical journey.
Her name, Quest, reflects her artistry—a search for unity, a voice for untold stories, and an exploration of sound beyond borders. Growing up across multiple continents, she seamlessly fuses genres and languages, shaping a style that’s as fluid as it is powerful. Now, she shares fan favorites and unreleased tracks from her upcoming EP, guiding listeners into new yet familiar emotional territories.

Batila & The Dream Bus is a Berlin-based band led by singer-songwriter Batila, the visionary behind Bantu Soul. Born in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Batila draws inspiration from legends like Papa Wemba and Franco while forging his own path. His music blends Afrobeat, soul, reggae, and Congolese rhythms into a sound that is both deeply rooted in tradition and boldly innovative. The Dream Bus, featuring some of Berlin’s finest musicians, creates an ever-evolving, immersive experience that transcends borders and generations.
More than just a band, The Dream Bus is a movement—one that unites, uplifts, and tells powerful stories through groove-driven melodies. Batila’s deep connection to the Kongo shines through in his homage to Rumba Congolaise, while his global sonic influences push the music forward. Just like a bus picking up and dropping off passengers, The Dream Bus is constantly shaped by the musicians and cultures that step on and off, absorbing new influences while staying true to its roots.
