GREAT SILKIE (UK)

Great Silkie is the songwriting vehicle of Sam Davies, fungi-folk extraordinaire and former guitarist for Charlie Boyer & TheVoyeurs. The outfit formed in 2017 following a succession of stints Sam spent in London's neo-psych and garage scenes throughout the 2010's; accompanying the legendary Bob Lindlive, recording guitar on JC Flowers' cover of China Girl viaATP Recordings, a Bo Diddley covers band called The Diddlersfeaturing members of The Horrors and S.C.U.M/Blueprint Blue, alongside other Rhys Webb (The Horrors) collaborations Death Fuck Leather Party and Fast Cars.

The band released their first single 'Scared to be Alone' on Crocodile Records in 2017 and a second in 2019, 'I Dont Know How to Say I Love you These Days', both with music videos directed by Danny Nellis (Charles Howl). Later that year, the band took three weeks out to record the debut LP Dawn Chorusat Vacant Studios,with production from Euan Hinshelwood (Younghusband). This album is due to be released by Crocodile Records in 2021.
