After 13 years, Anelis Assumpção returns to Europe with a trio performance shaped by memory, reinvention, and artistic continuity. Joined by longtime collaborators Bruno Buarque (drums), Saulo Duarte (guitar), and Klaus Sena (bass), she revisits songs from her acclaimed solo albums while honoring the legacies of Itamar Assumpção and Serena Assumpção. Mayara Baptista is a performance artist, vocalist, and sound researcher from Brazil, currently based in Berlin. E.t. practice moves between theatre, music, and performance, exploring the relationships between memory, ancestry, presence, and Afro-diasporic movement.E.t. develops an ongoing research on the work of Itamar Assumpção, exploring his rhythmic, poetic, and vocal inventions and their impact on contemporary Black Brazilian music. DJ Chichi Mentira is a Berlin-based selector with a weakness for Latin, Balearic & Brazilian sounds from the ’80s and ’90s. Recently, she has focused on Rio de Janeiro’s sound-system culture of that era, including rap das antigas, funk montagens and freestyle gems made popular within the scene by crews like Cashbox, Acoisona and Furacão 2000.
